Policies and Procedures Agreement
To maintain a safe, fun and productive learning environment for our children, Parent Helpers are asked to carefully read the Parent Handbook and agree to abide by the Policies and Procedures described in it. Please be sure to read these highlighted guidelines in your Parent Handbook.
Please arrive for workdays at 8:45. Teachers plan on your assistance in those 15 minutes before class begins. Nursery is open at 8:40 please plan to be in the preschool classroom at 8:45.
I understand that as a volunteer I am to follow the directions of the teacher and am under the direct supervision of the teacher.
I understand as a volunteer I am not to be alone with a child other than my own.
I understand that if I cannot complete my volunteer day I am responsible for finding a trade and notifying the Coordinator.
Be aware of safety. Please spread out on the playground and remind children of safe choices. Sand and snow stay on the ground, bikes are not for crashing.
Redirection. Sometimes children make unsafe or unacceptable choices. We state what is acceptable and then help redirect the child to a better choice. Discipline is a learning experience not a punishment.
Sign your child in and out. For the safety of the children and our staff's peace of mind please sign your child and carpool children in and out each day.
Confidentiality. Please be respectful in what is said between parents and in front of children regarding children, teachers, staff and board members. If you have concerns regarding a child or staff member please make an appointment or phone the teacher, director or a board member.
Background Check. I agree to submit a background check through Verify Volunteers for each family member serving as parent helpers.
