Hello, my name is Megan Mattox.  I am the creative movement and music teacher for both the 3 year old and Pre-K classes, as well as the process art teacher for our Pre-K program!  I have a Bachelor’s Degree with a minor in Elementary Education from Portland State University.  I began working with preschool children in 2005, while living in Portland, Oregon. I have also been working at FUMCP for the past 9 years! I have a passion for working with children and seeing the uniqueness in each child. I strive to provide an environment where each child can thrive and grow in a loving and inclusive space.  Fostering creativity while taking risks is an essential part of growing and so important for development. I believe social emotional skills that teach our children to create loving, empathetic relationships with their peers as well as adults is a crucial piece in a child’s growth and development.

I am a mother of 2 teenage girls. My youngest daughter was enrolled in the preschool program at FUMCP, which is where I became a part of this wonderful community that means so much to me! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and 2 dogs, hiking, cooking, gardening and seeing live music! 

I am dedicated to showing love and respect to each child, while encouraging them to be exactly who they are! I feel very grateful to have the experience to work with young children who challenge me to be a better person!
